Electric Rate

Many power companies offer both a general rate and an off-peak rate. If your power company offers an off-peak rate, enter that number here. If your power company does not offer an off-peak rate or you are unsure of the amount, enter in the regular electric rate. A rate of 4.5 cents per kWh should be entered in as 4.5 and not 0.045.

Current Energy Usage

Enter in the Fuel, Current System, Energy Rate and Annual COP values based on your current heating system. Coefficient of Performance (COP) rates a heat pump's ability to efficiently use electricity in it's operation. If you are unsure about the Annual COP value, use the default value of 1.5.
